In June, Királyegyházi cement base of Hungary’s Királyegyházi Group finished the upgrading of pretreatment production line for mixed raw materials of limestone and steel slag. Steel scraps and iron nails frequently mixed into materials during crushing, which constantly abraded crusher liners. Monthly loss from shutdown maintenance reached over 32,000 Euros, and excessive iron content in finished cement weakened the strength of concrete.

The project adopted a two-stage magnetic separation scheme. Heavy-duty permanent magnetic drum separators were installed above conveying belts to capture bulk steel sundries in advance. Self-cleaning rotary grate magnets were fitted on feeding pipelines before grinding to remove micron-level fine iron powder dynamically and avoid pipeline blockage caused by powder bridging. The thickened carbon steel housing adapts to high-dust and high-temperature factory environments without frequent manual iron cleaning.

After commissioning, the replacement cycle of crusher wearing parts was extended by 4 times, and monthly shutdown maintenance time dropped by 86%. The iron content of finished cement is stably controlled within 0.1%, fully complying with EU construction aggregate standards. The plant placed orders for the same equipment to support two additional raw material production lines.
